Mace is known for maintaining some of the highest health and safety standards in the industry and a variety of recent nominations and awards have yet again supported the group's credentials in this area.
Two Mace projects, Ropemaker and BG Reading, have been shortlisted in the integrated project safety category of the National Health and Safety Awards. In addition, Como's Kirk Grant has been short listed as a potential H&S site worker of the year and Ken Woodward, consultant to the health and safety team, has made the short list for the H&S champion of the year award. Results will be announced at a gala dinner on 17th June.
In related news, three recently completed Mace projects have won Considerate Constructor awards. The team on Hertfordshire eco-school Howe Dell won a bronze award as did the Mace Plus team that successfully delivered the Old Road Campus in Oxford. This is the first such award Mace Plus has won so a particularly proud moment for the team. Finally, the 51 Lime Street team collected a silver Considerate Constructor award and a new city architecture award from The Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects.
