Mace has achieved a significant milestone for Dubai-based developer Al Barari on its flagship residential development with the successful unveiling of the show home.
Widely regarded to be one of the most prestigious projects currently being undertaken in Dubai, over 80 per cent of the residential phase will be gardens and common areas, making Al Barari ('The Wilderness') one of the lowest-density developments in the region.
Mace has a dedicated landscape team to oversee the import of 800 species of plants which will create six themed botanical gardens; the Balinese garden, contemporary garden, water garden, woodland garden, Renaissance garden and the Mediterranean garden.
Mohammad Bin Zaal, Chief Operations Officer of Al Barari commented: "We have devoted nearly Dh1.4 billion towards our themed gardens, woodlands, waterways, streams and water bodies, and as part of the process we will be planting 4.6 million trees, shrubbery and ground cover. At a length of 14.6 kilometres, we're building the longest manmade waterway in the world."
Mace's project management role isn't confined to the landscaping (some 20% of the construction cost) but extends to the 285 planned villas of which 230 are currently under construction, all community facilities as well as all infrastructure including an STP and a 132KV substation.
Al Barari covers 14 million square feet in Dubailand, south of Nad Al Sheba, and borders the wildlife sanctuary, royal grounds and future site of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid's gardens project.
