Como was recently awarded a RoSPA (The Royal Society for the prevention of accidents) Gold achievement award for Occupational Health and Safety for their performance on site in 2007.
The Society's main goal is to save lives and reduce accidents in all areas of life and celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year. The award scheme was set up in 1965 to recognize excellence in work-related health and safety performance by private and public sector organizations.
The awards objectives are the help motivate health and safety performance improvement, to provide a means of recognizing and celebrating occupational health and safety achievement and to provide a series of exemplars of good practice as positive role models for other organisations to learn from and emulate.
John Knight, Como SHE Manager said, 'We are delighted to have won the award and it is a testament to the hard work of the project team supported by the ESH Managers on site.'
